THE GYPSY LORE SOCIETY

2003 ANNUAL MEETING

The 2003 Annual Meeting and Conference on Gypsy Studies will be held at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan on May 30-31. Our campus sponsor is the Department of Anthropology at the university. The conference will take place in the Henderson Room, third floor of The Michigan League, on North University Avenue between Fletcher and Ingalls Streets at the heart of Central Campus.

A full and varied program is in planning, including sessions on Gypsies in Spain, Romani political mobilization, music, language in culture, dance, Romani-Americans and Roma in Eastern Europe. A selection of documentary films on Gypsies will be shown Friday evening. Authors and publishers are invited to send books and purchase information for a book display.
