The 2007 Annual Meeting and Conference on Gypsy Studies, an international conference on "Romani Diasporas, Romani Migrations," will take place at the University of Manchester, England, 6-8 September 2007. It will be hosted by the Romani Project, in cooperation with the Migration and Diaspora Cultural Studies Network at the School of Languages, Linguistics and Cultures, University of Manchester. Conference Venue

The conference will be held at the Humanities Faculty, Lime Grove Building, on the Oxford Road campus, University of Manchester. The Oxford Road campus is easily accessible on foot and by bus from Manchester city center. Campus and city maps as well as travel information can be found online at: www.manchester.ac.uk/visitors/travel/maps/.

Registration

Registration is handled by the treasurer of the Gypsy Lore Society. Registration fees for the conference are US$50 for Gypsy Lore Society members and for postgraduate students; and US$60 for nonmembers. To be eligible for these prices, your fees must reach us by 30 June 2007. The late registration fee (after 30 June 2007) is US$70 for both members and nonmembers.

Participants registering at the conference venue itself on the day of the conference will be asked to pay the late registration fee, in cash, $US 70 (£35).

Postgraduate students need to be registered either part time or full time for an MA or PhD degree at a university, and must prove their status with a letter from the university or dissertation supervisor.

To register, send checks in US dollars or credit card information to Sheila Salo, Treasurer, Gypsy Lore Society, 5607 Greenleaf Road, Cheverly, MD 20785, USA; Fax: 1-810-592-1768. Participants can also pay directly into the Gypsy Lore Society account by ACH (Automated Clearing House) or EFT payments. See the Registration Form.

Banquet

The traditional banquet will be held Saturday, September 8. The banquet fee is US$60. Use the Registration Form to book your place at the banquet as well.

Cancellation

If you must cancel your participation in the meeting, the Gypsy Lore Society will refund your fees paid for registration and banquet, if cancellation is received through e-mail or fax by 30 June 2007. After 30 June 2007, registrants are no longer eligible for refunds or credits. A processing fee of US$10 is applied against all fees refunded.

Participants are expected to make their own travel and accommodation arrangements. A list of selected hotels and hostels follows.
