The 2012 Annual Meeting of the Gypsy Lore Society and Conference on Roma/Gypsy Studies will take place 20-23 of September 2012 in the historic district of Beyoğlu, in Istanbul, Turkey. It will be hosted on behalf of the Gypsy Lore Society by the Municipality of Beyoğlu, Istanbul. To complement the conference the Municipality of Beyoğlu is organizing a cultural program of film, music and photography, as well as a gala dinner evening. Call for Papers Academic papers in all areas of Roma/Gypsy studies are invited. Abstracts of up to 300 words accompanied by a title and the author’s name, academic affiliation and contact email address should be submitted no later than 30 April 2012 to the Conference General Secretariat info@glsbeyoglu.org. Papers will be evaluated by an international academic committee and a decision on acceptance or rejection will be communicated in the second half of May 2012.
